I am so glad that the New Year comes right on the tail of Christmas because it is the Hope of Christmas that we carry into 2009...the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. He came so that we may have LIFE. He is the Hope of the world! What would we do without the HOPE of Jesus? 2008, honestly, was not so great for us, but God is Faithful remember. Though we muddled our way through the latter half of '08, His Promises remained truer than ever to us and we clung on to Him for our very lives. We learned much, about prayer, about dying (to ourselves), about forgiving, about redemption, about deliverance, about GRACE! God was so gracious in providing His truth to us in some of our darkest times. One of my most precious memories of the year was traveling to Phoenix to literally soak in the truth of God's Grace...a divine appointment totally planned by the Father who loves us and knows us so intimately. The couple we met with were part of a deep healing that began in us this year...a healing that continues. We anticipate more revelation in 2009 and understanding of who we are and what God requires of us as His chosen ones, holy and loved (thank you Bob for this amazing revelation!)My personal prayer this year is that I would become so free to be who He made me that nothing would keep me from loving extravagantly and running after Him in every aspect of my life and that nothing would hinder me from receiving His love for me. I am also praying that I would have a new awareness of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in my life. He is, after all, our counselor, teacher and so much more. He is the life-flow of Jesus in me and I can totally trust Him to carry me through 2009.
Time to put boys to bed. It's getting late and tomorrow (New Year's Eve) will be a late night for the gang. We have long-time friends spending a few days with us. Have a blessed New Year!
