A Hidden Promise

On November 4th, 2006, our family stepped across a threshold into the amazing journey of adoption. It was on this day that we attended an America World Adoption orientation with our three sons and felt the inner nudgings of the Holy Spirit to move forward into His Promises for our family. What started as a dream and a "hidden promise" has turned into reality and I stand in awe! Who would have thought that after ten years of marriage and three beautiful children later, that God would open a door which would lead us on this journey to our fourth gift of His love. Truly, He is the God of the IMPOSSIBLE! What a miracle...and we can't wait to share every step with you!

Perhaps it is a good omen that the "Gramma and Grampa" of these darling children are the first to write in this blog. Without a doubt, we are extremely proud of Gina and Brian for undertaking such a daunting task and commend them for it. We do try to support them in many ways but our favorite is watching the boys. As the "grandmother", I look forward to the day that I can say, "And the little empress, Sarah" as well.

God bless you all for the journey we are sharing with you and you know that our hearts cry is that you will succeed in this adventure as you wait for God's gift of a baby girl to arrive in your household.

With love and prayers,
Dad and Mom

Greetings Holbrooks',

Congratulations on your decision to adopt. This is certainly a worthy cause, as there are many homeless children in our world. Friends of ours in Arizona adopted a young girl and are very happy with her. If you like I shall try to get their e-mail so that you might correspond.
I am your great-Uncle Ernest DeRaps of Richmond, Maine and administrator of the "Darspe - Deraps MyFamily.com" Site also the U. S. Daraspe Family Genealogist and Historian. May God assist you in your adoption process.

With Love and God's special blessings. Ernie D.

Here we are again and you are being consumed with "notary"!!! This, too, shall pass, dear ones...

After babysitting your neice yesterday I can "almost" see those little red shoes being filled by our Sarah Grace.

"Pepe" is holding his own, God love him, and he wants to meet his 21st grandchild and still has to meet his darling first great-great grandchild, Addison, when he returns to Maine once winter has passed. He has made a "turn-around" today and should be released from the hospital this weekend!

We, your mother and father, pray daily for the arrival of our "Sarah Grace" and know that God's timing is perfect. What a marvelous adventure as we watch you climb every mountain and ford ever stream! May the good Lord continue to strenthen and guide your each of your steps!

Always with love and prayers,
Mom and Dad
